Testing and Placement Examinations

Biology Placement Examinations

Placement examinations are offered by the Department of Biology. This examination determines placement at the appropriate course level. Students entering the Health Sciences programs in which BIO 150 Human Anatomy and Physiology I is a requirement must take the Biology Department Placement Examination. This exam is administered by the Testing Office.

Departmental Challenge Examinations

At the discretion of academic departments or programs, students may take departmental challenge examinations to demonstrate college-level competency in courses that have not been taken at CSI (or at any other college), and for which no credit has already been received.

Fast Track Language Placement Examinations

Fast Track Language Placement examinations are available in Chinese, French, Italian, and Spanish and offered by the Modern Languages Media Center. The examinations are online and students must submit a request.

Arabic

Students interested in taking the Arabic Fast Track Placement Examination must contact Professor Hager Abouelkhair. This exam is conducted in-person with the Professor. Students must email Professor Abouelkhair to arrange a time and date.

American Sign Language

Students interested in taking the American Sign Language Fast Track Placement Examination must get in contact with Professor Russell Rosen. TThis exam is conducted in-person with the Professor. Students must email Professor Rosen to arrange a time and date..

Other Languages

Students wishing to demonstrate proficiency at the 213-level or above in any language not taught at CSI, please contact Professor Paola Ureni of the Department of World Languages and Literatures.
