Description
This course is designed to supplement and enhance student teaching responsibilities occurring in EDC 440. Candidates will have an opportunity to synthesize information learned throughout their program and produce and deliver meaningful, effective lessons addressing diverse learners and learning styles, as well as state and local standards. The course will also focus on assessing student learning and integrating technology into instruction. Several sessions will be devoted to New York City Licensing and New York State Certificationrequirements for the reporting of child abuse and maltreatment, in addition to drug,alcohol and violence prevention training. Prerequisites: EDC 360; SLS 218 and SLS 262 and a GPA of 3.0 or above. Corequisite: EDC 332 EDC 440. In addition, students must meet each of the following criteria: A grade point average of 3.0 in all education courses, A minimal grade of C+ in all education courses, three faculty recommendations, at least one from a professor who can attest to your performance in the field, and Satisfactory fieldwork evaluations.
