Description

Structure of crystalline and non-crystalline solids. Phase transformations. Thermodynamics of multicomponent systems, surfaces, reaction rates, diffusion, and structural change. Mechanical properties, plasticity, strengthening. Ceramics and polymers, electronic and optical properties, thermoelectricity, magnetism. Prerequisites: ENS 310 and CSC 270.
