Commercial Lending

Description

Focused on the financial analysis of commercial lending and the loan decision making process at a commercial bank. Students will explore different types of commercial loan products (i.e. term loans, revolving credits, and commercial real estate loans) and how to underwrite and collateralize these credits. Collateral requirements and collateral perfecting techniques will be surveyed. By the end of the course students should be able to make independent loan decisions and understand the bank’s commercial lending process. This course is modelled on similarly related courses offered by the American Bankers Association (ABA) and adopts their published textbooks.
