Communications: Journalism

The minor in Journalism provides students with training in the skills utilized in multiplatform news reporting and editing, including video, audio, or digital imaging. 

The Journalism minor may be of special interest to majors in English, Business, History, Political Science, and any other major who may be interested in the contemporary practices of news media, from traditional reporting to blogging and interactive media. Upon completion of the program:  

• Students will be able to demonstrate writing and digital skills required to operate in cross-platform media environments. 

• Students will be able to critically analyze and produce journalistic content. 

• Students will be able to demonstrate intermediate level proficiency in video and/or audio production as utilized in news media.
